Parish Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain is composed of a group of individuals who are committed to prayer; who believe in the power of prayer and are willing to interrupt what they are doing in order to hear and pray for the needs of others. Often the need is immediate such as sudden illness or surgery, or difficult personal situations. But it may be on-going.

The Prayer Chain is confidential and for that reason is not the same as The Parish Prayer List, although they often overlap. The Prayer Chain can be activated by notifying the chairperson, Eda Scales, the church office, or by calling a prayer chain member who will then set the prayer chain in motion. Generally, the names submitted become part of the member's personal prayer list and are prayed for through the time of crisis. We do not always know the outcome or know what kind of healing or resolution God has planned. For that reason each member has discretion as to how to pray and for how long, knowing that the healing power of God's love far exceeds our expectations.
