The Soup Kitchen held its Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday, November 14. Many hands joined together to prepare and serve a wonderful holiday meal for 150 people. The next day, many of the same volunteers plus several more, came out to help with the Second Harvest Food Drive. Approximately 360 pounds of food was collected for the St. James Soup Kitchen and Food Cupboard. Money donated will go to Second Harvest to benefit food pantries across the area, including St. James. For every dollar donated, Second Harvest can purchase seventeen dollars worth of food and pass the savings on to all the participating soup kitchens and pantries. Many thanks to all who helped to make t hese events so successful.
